When Toby, a young street cat, dragged his injured body into the yard of a kind family in Sangkhlaburi, Thailand, they knew something was terribly wrong.

Toby isn’t anyone’s pet. He’s one of countless cats struggling to survive on the streets - facing danger, disease, and often cruelty. This compassionate family fed him… but nothing could prepare them for the horror of what they discovered.

Somehow, Toby had sustained a severe burn on the inside of his back leg. We’ll never know if it was a cruel act, motorbike exhaust, or boiling water. But the wound had been left untreated for days. It was raw, infected, and nearly four inches long - on a tiny cat’s fragile body.

In unimaginable pain, Toby still trusted humans enough to ask for help.

When he arrived at our small, donation-funded clinic at the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary, we acted fast. We shaved away the fur, flushed and cleaned the wound, and started emergency care. Toby’s leg is now cleaned and bandaged daily. He’s safe with us while he heals.

But the truth is - we can only help Toby because of people like you.
