A wheelchair is all that stands between Gherka and joy

He fought to live. Now let’s help him thrive.

When he was just three weeks old, blind and hungry, he made one innocent mistake: he crawled toward the wrong mother dog for milk.

She bit him.

The attack ripped open his tiny body, leaving his intestines exposed. Barely clinging to life, weighing less than a kilo (2.2 pounds), Gherka was brought to our sanctuary filthy, broken, and in terrible pain.

We rushed him into emergency care. Our exhausted team worked around the clock – cleaning his wound, giving him antibiotics, feeding him by hand every four hours, even through the night.

There were moments we thought we’d lose him. But Gherka never stopped fighting.

And slowly… he began to heal.

Today he’s no longer the broken, nameless pup we first carried into the clinic. He’s Gherka – “little pickle” – a lively 17-pound (7.7 kilos) dog who charms everyone with his sweetness and has won the devotion of Somjit, our three-legged mother figure.

But Gherka still faces a heartbreaking challenge: he cannot walk.

His front legs are beyond repair. His shoulder is dislocated. He will never walk normally on his own. But with your help, he doesn’t have to live his life in a cage.

What Gherka needs now is a specially designed dog wheelchair. With it, he’ll be able to run, play, and go down to the river like any happy pup. The cost? Less than $300 (£221).

That is all it will take to give this brave little survivor the chance at the life he deserves.

Your donation today will help us:

  • Purchase a custom wheelchair for Gherka
  • Cover ongoing vet visits, medications, and therapy
  • Provide food, vitamins, and lifelong sanctuary care
  • Ensure he is safe, sterilized, and never abandoned again

Please, will you send $35, $50, $100 – or whatever you can in any currency – to help little Gherka right now?

Just two weeks ago, we weren’t sure he’d make it. We even had to face the unthinkable: if he didn’t improve, we might have to let him go. But Gherka showed us his spirit. With extra therapy, vitamins, and endless love, he has proven he wants to live.

Slowly… against all odds, this fragile puppy began to heal.

Today, Gherka – our “little pickle” – has blossomed into a joyful bundle of love. He longs to be cuddled, soaks up every bit of affection, and has even found a devoted guardian in Somjit, our gentle three-legged “mother dog.”

Yet Gherka still faces a heartbreaking challenge: he cannot walk. His front legs are beyond repair. His shoulder is dislocated. He will never walk normally on his own. But with your help, he doesn’t have to spend his life confined.

What Gherka needs now is a specially designed dog wheelchair. With it, he’ll be able to run, play, and go down to the river like any happy pup.

We must not let him down.

With heartfelt gratitude,

P.S. Gherka was bitten by mistake. But your gift can be his second chance. Please don’t wait – make your donation now so this little fighter can finally run free.

P.P.S. Please share Gherka’s story with your friends. The more people who know, the faster we can get him the wheelchair he needs.
