Kate’s Dad has become a much-loved part of the sanctuary team. Living right here on site, he is the one who quietly keeps everything ticking over once the sun goes down. If there’s ever a problem during the night, he’s the first person on hand to deal with it, making sure the animals and the sanctuary grounds are always safe and cared for.

But his role doesn’t stop there. By day, he’s often found out in the garden, planting, tidying, and keeping the place looking beautiful. He also turns his hand to all sorts of general jobs — from fixing things to lending a hand wherever it’s needed. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and he always seems to know what needs doing before anyone even asks.

Having him here brings a real sense of reassurance and family to the sanctuary. He doesn’t just look after the place — he looks after all of us.
