Let me be perfectly clear – as the disclaimer above indicates, the image is only an artist’s representation. But what it depicts is real – tragically real.

We regularly come upon the blood-and-guts aftermath of a poor dog or cat hit by a car.  As you can imagine, the images are horrific. We won’t show them. We won’t even take photographs. As committed as we are to honesty, we are equally committed to respecting you and the unfortunate victims – you should expect no less from any organization you entrust with your donations.

But make no mistake: what the image depicts is the reason I am writing today. We must help these poor dogs (and cats), and to have a fighting chance we must act fast.

At the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary, we work around the clock to rescue, treat, and care for street dogs and cats who have no one else…

We run a free veterinary clinic. We treat horrific injuries. We prevent disease. We spay and neuter to end the endless cycle of suffering. We feed, shelter, and rehome abandoned animals.

And we do all of this with your support.

But now – the truth is – we need to do even more. And we need your help to do it.

Right now, our biggest need is urgent.

We desperately need a fully equipped animal ambulance.

We’re thrilled to have sourced a reliable secondhand ambulance, fully outfitted for medical emergencies. The price is $12,500. But time is of the essence – if we’re to close the deal before someone else snatches it. (This is a phenomenal deal – similar used ambulances run upwards of $75,000.)

The lack of such a vehicle keeps us awake at night. Too often, we get the call – a dog hit by a car, a cat stuck in the jungle, an animal suffering in a remote village – and we can’t reach them. Or worse, we reach them, but there’s no safe way to bring them back.

With an ambulance, we could:

Reach animals in the most remote villages – fast.

Treat emergencies on-site.

Transport animals safely back to the clinic for surgery or intensive care.

It would change everything – for the animals we can’t get to fast enough… for the ones who need urgent help right there on the roadside… for the dogs and cats who would otherwise die before we arrive.
