Not every day at the clinic ends with a wagging tail.

Sometimes it ends in tears. Sometimes heartbreak is all we have to hold.

The little dog was doing what he did every day – waiting outside the school gates for the girl he loved. But that day, a speeding driver in a school zone hit him hard. The callous driver stopped – not to help, but to check the damage to his car. He pulled off a broken piece, threw it into the jungle, and drove away.

A classmate of the little girl carried the broken dog to our clinic.

Both of his front legs were shattered. His back foot, too. There was nothing we could do.

We gave him powerful pain relief. We made him comfortable. The girl called her family. They came, heartbroken. We gave them time. Then, together, we made the hardest decision.

He was put to sleep with love, gently and without pain – his family beside him, his little girl holding his head.

And here’s the truth: without donors, we wouldn’t have even been there. This little dog would’ve suffered in agony on the side of the road. He would have died alone.

But because of kind people like you, he didn’t.
