The promise we made to Walter – we can only keep with your support.
Walter may never find a family – but with your help, he’ll never be alone.
When Walter joined our sanctuary family, he was just a pup – five months old at most – trying to survive alone on the streets after losing his mother and siblings to the dangers of a busy roadside.
A kind-hearted government friend, who often helps our sanctuary, noticed him wandering. A neighbor left food out, but Walter had no protection. Older, tougher street dogs drove him off. Sometimes he limped badly, likely from a motorbike or car strike – an injury that left him with his now-signature limp.
Walter is cautious. Life has taught him to be. It takes patience to earn his trust. But when you do, he is deeply sweet and loyal. He has slowly bonded with a few of our team members, and every small step is a triumph.
Today Walter is vaccinated and neutered, but his emotional wounds will take longer to heal. His best chance is with an exceptionally patient, compassionate family – one who understands trauma. That family may or may not come.
And that’s why we need your help.
At the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary, we promise every animal that they will be loved, safe, and cared for – whether for weeks, years, or forever. But we cannot keep that promise without you.
Please consider donating today. Your gift will provide food, shelter, medical care, and the patient love Walter – and others like him – need to heal.
With heartfelt gratitude,

P.S. With your support, even if a forever family never comes for Walter, he will always have one – right here with us. Please help us keep that promise.
