Blatu was never supposed to spend her days in a sanctuary.  I’ve told you about her before.

She was supposed to be curled up on a sofa. Following her family from room to room. Greeting familiar faces every morning and falling asleep each night knowing exactly where she belonged.

For four wonderful years, that was her life. She had a loving family, a comfortable home, and people who adored her. After a tragic start in life, she had finally found happiness.

Then everything changed.

As a puppy, Blatu was the sole survivor after her mother and littermates were poisoned by neighbors. Against all odds, she lived. An English-Thai couple rescued her, gave her a home, and surrounded her with love. For the first time, she was safe. She was wanted. She belonged.

But when serious illness forced her family to relocate for long-term medical treatment, they faced a heartbreaking reality: they could no longer care for the dog they loved so deeply.

They searched for another home. They asked friends. They explored every option. When they could find no one, they turned to the Sangkhlaburi Animal Sanctuary. Because they had supported our work for years, they knew we would care for Blatu as if she were our own. The goodbye was heartbreaking.

Today, Blatu is one of the sweetest dogs in our care. She is gentle, calm, patient, and wonderfully kind with other dogs. Puppies seem especially drawn to her. Her beautiful coat shifts from snowy white to warm golden blonde in the sunlight, and she carries herself with a quiet grace that captures everyone’s heart.

But there is something else about Blatu. She knows what a real home feels like. She knows what it means to have a family. And we believe that is why she watches people so closely, why she seems to linger when visitors leave, why – despite all the love she receives here – it often feels as though she is still waiting for someone.

She is waiting for her THIRD chance!

We are grateful that Blatu is safe. But the truth is that a sanctuary – even a loving one – is not the ending we dream of for her. What we want most is for Blatu to once again have a family to call her own.

Until that day comes, she depends on compassionate friends like you. Every meal she eats. Every veterinary checkup. Every vaccination. Every comfortable place to sleep. Every day of safety and care.
