But today… this one does!

Somjud was a small, gentle dog who hung out by a local 7-Eleven store. She greeted everyone with a wagging tail, asking for nothing but scraps of food and a little kindness. And for a while, that was enough to survive.

Until one day, it wasn’t.

She was found lying by the roadside, her leg crushed after being hit by a car. In pain. Alone. Unable to stand. She was rushed her to our free clinic. We tried everything we could. But in the end, we had to make the hardest decision.

Her leg couldn’t be saved. It had to be amputated.

What followed was a long, painful recovery. Bandage after bandage. Days of healing. Weeks of uncertainty. And through it all… Somjud never lost her gentle spirit. She trusted. She endured. She stayed kind.

And then something extraordinary happened…

Two volunteers, Owen and Megan, from the UK met Somjud… and fell completely in love. When they left to continue their travels – they couldn’t forget her. So, they came back. For two weeks, they stayed by her side. Slept next to her. Bonded with her. Loved her. And Somjud – who once had no one – found her family.

Just yesterday, she began an incredible journey…

…eight hours from our small sanctuary in Sangkhlaburi to Bangkok… then, a 12-hour flight to Paris… and finally, a long drive and ferry to her new home in Brighton, England. A journey of thousands of miles – toward a life filled with safety, love, and even walks along the beach.
